How to work in Poland from Latin America

Last reviewed: 1 November 2026

Before you start

Poland needs workers in logistics, manufacturing, warehouses, construction and agriculture, and every year it welcomes people from Latin America, Asia and Africa. This guide summarises the general process. Each case depends on your nationality, the employer and the type of work.

The steps, in order

  1. A specific job offer. Without an employer in Poland there is no permit. Choose offers with clear conditions: pay, hours, type of contract and city.
  2. Work permit. It is normally requested by the employer at the voivodeship office. At Mesh Consulting we do not charge candidates for job offers. For more information about visa procedures, contact us.
  3. National work visa. Once the permit is approved, you apply for the visa at the Polish consulate in your country.
  4. Travel and arrival. Documents in order, signed contract and the employer's contact details.
  5. After you arrive. Address registration, a PESEL number where applicable, a bank account and, if you stay long term, the residence card procedure.

Documents usually required

  • Valid passport: normally valid for at least 3 months after the visa ends and issued within the last 10 years (check with the consulate).
  • Police clearance certificate, if the consulate requires it.
  • Travel medical insurance.
  • Education or experience documents, depending on the job.

How we help

Mesh Consulting connects candidates with employers and agencies in Poland. We tell you about the available jobs and guide you through the process. Deadlines and the approval of permits and visas depend on the authorities and we cannot guarantee them.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to speak Polish?

For many warehouse or production jobs it is not required, but learning the basics helps a lot. Each offer states whether it is required.

How long does the whole process take?

It depends on the voivodeship and the consulate; it usually takes several weeks or months. The consulate usually decides on the visa in about 15 days (up to 60 in special cases), but the voivodeship permit can take longer depending on the office.
